Annual festivals such as the Alliston’s Potato Festival, the Beeton Honey and Garden Festivals and the Tottenham Bluegrass Festival draws visitors from across the country and beyond.

Alliston Potato FestivalThis year’s 43th Annual Potato Festival will feature another Blue Rodeo concert organized by the Rotary Club of Alliston as a fundraiser and there will be other acts on the concert stage at the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex as well. Details of the artists will be released closer to the event dates.

In the town of New Tecumseth, you will find an area rich in culture & heritage. Alliston, is the birthplace of Sir Frederick Banting, the co-founder of insulin. The town is currently working on turning the homestead into a tribute to this noble Canadian as well as a tourist attraction for visitors.

Essa Township and the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio harbor many of South Simcoe’s natural wonders, such as fishing in one of the rivers: the Pine, the Boyne and the grand one of them all, the Nottawasaga.
